Integrative Therapy & Counselling for Teenagers in Walthamstow
A calm, flexible space for young people in Walthamstow and East London who feel stuck with school, anxiety, identity, or the sense that therapy “isn’t for them.”
Support that fits how teenagers actually show up
Adolescence can feel overwhelming — school pressure, friendships, identity, family dynamics, and a nervous system that rarely gets a break. I offer integrative psychotherapy for teenagers and young people in Walthamstow who need a space that adapts to them, rather than asking them to perform as a “good client.”
Sessions can include talking, experiential tools, and creative or musical processes where that helps. We move at a pace that feels manageable, with clear consent and regular check-ins.
EBSA, school anxiety, and feeling stuck with school
Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and school-related anxiety are a core part of my work. When a young person is struggling to attend, push harder rarely helps — we need to understand what school has come to mean in their body and story, and rebuild psychological flexibility from there.
I work with adolescents facing school refusal patterns, panic around attendance, burnout from academic pressure, and the isolation that often follows long absences. The aim is not to force a return overnight, but to support safer, steadier steps when the young person is ready.
Working with parents and carers
Where helpful, I collaborate with parents and carers so the young person isn’t carrying everything alone. Updates stay careful and proportionate: explicit session detail stays confidential, while practical themes around support, boundaries, and next steps can be shared with permission when safe to do so.
If you’re a parent looking for therapy in Walthamstow for a teenager who has tried counselling before and left feeling unseen, this space is often a good fit.
Where we meet in Walthamstow
I don’t currently hold a fixed clinic room. When we begin, we arrange a suitable space together in the Walthamstow / East London area — a private room that feels calm and workable for the young person.
Home visits are also available, and can be especially helpful for withdrawn adolescents, school-avoidant young people, or anyone for whom leaving the house is part of the struggle. Online sessions remain an option too, if that feels safer to start with.
