Therapy With Ben
Trauma can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, and overwhelmed. Figuring out how to process it shouldn’t feel that way too.
How I can help
A different kind of fit.
I specialise in working with people who have tried therapy before and left feeling stuck, unseen, or sure it “wasn’t for them.”
Often it isn’t that therapy failed—it’s that the approach didn’t match you. This is a dedicated space to try again, without starting from scratch in the same old rigid way.
Who is this for?
If you’re carrying difficult past experiences and previous therapy didn’t quite land, you’re in the right place.
When therapy doesn’t work, it is easy to assume that you were the issue—or to quietly decide that therapy simply isn’t worth another try. While we often play a key role in our own patterns and difficulties, struggling to benefit from a specific therapeutic approach doesn’t mean you are beyond help. Standard talk therapy often relies heavily on rigid structures or pure verbal analysis, which simply doesn’t suit how everyone processes distress.
This space is for anyone looking to try a different way of working—one that adapts to how you actually think, feel, and experience the world, rather than expecting you to fit a fixed mold. You don’t need to know how to be a “good client” or have everything neatly articulated before we begin.
What we actually do
Integrative psychotherapy means I don’t stick to a single, rigid template. We draw on different modalities—integrating talk-based work with experiential tools—to find what actually resonates with you and your history, adjusting as we go.
This is a space to understand the “why” behind what you’re experiencing, untangle old narratives, separate past from future, and establish a gentler, more effective pace for change. The goal isn’t to erase hard feelings; it’s to help you drop the struggle with what’s keeping you stuck, stay grounded in what matters to you, and take steps toward living a life aligned with your values.
We move at a pace that feels manageable. You will always know how and why we are working the way we are, and what you think remains firmly at the centre—not a theory, and not my agenda.

About
Hi, I’m Ben.
I began my clinical practice as a Music Therapist before training further in Integrative Psychotherapy. I am based in Walthamstow, Waltham Forest (E17), working with individuals who are carrying deep-rooted trauma or navigating complex emotional and mental health difficulties—with a strong focus on adolescents and young adults.
Core to my practice is the belief that “therapy resistance” is a myth; usually, it just means the right framework hasn’t been offered yet. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients find flexible, realistic keys to engagement and meaningful change.
When we work together, you can expect candour, collaboration, and a space where your lived experience is held in higher regard than textbook models. I’m interested in functional truth: the underlying beliefs we treat as true and act upon—even when they cause us pain—and how those beliefs drive our behaviour day-to-day. I may invite you to try new ways of exploring these patterns in sessions, but always in your own time, at your own pace, and with clear consent.
(And if you’d like, my rescue dog Pru can also make an appearance in our sessions.)
